Chrome extension for local API mocks

Create mocks from logs

Ruse turns browser request logs into local mock rules. Click a URL, confirm the response, and keep testing without touching your backend.

Fill the response body, headers, status, and delay. Your local rule is ready for the next reload.

Launch-ready proof

Built for the first useful mock.

Ruse avoids broad future promises in v0.1.0. The launch version is a small, honest tool for turning captured HTTP requests into local mock rules.

Local-first v0.1.0

No account, billing, teams, or cloud sync in the first release. Ruse focuses on fast local rule creation.

20 rules by design

The free launch version stays intentionally small, clear, and easy to understand before paid workflows arrive.

Real product screens

The website and Chrome Web Store visuals match the extension users install, including logs, rules, filters, and rule creation.

Before install

Questions developers ask before installing.

Does Ruse send my request logs to a server?

No. The v0.1.0 extension is local-first. Request logs and rules are handled in your browser.

Do I need an account to use it?

No account is required for the first release. Install the extension, select a tab, and create local rules.

What is the main workflow?

Capture a request from the selected tab, click its URL, and create a mock rule with prefilled fields.

Is this a full API platform?

Not yet. The first release is intentionally narrow: local HTTP mock rules from browser requests.
